A second way to look at the board

The rebuilt board is an L. The left column stops two thirds of the way down, because the actions run underneath it, and the shape of the grid follows.

There is now a second arrangement that does not do that. In the menu, under Layout, you can pick Two columns.

It runs the Ancient floor to ceiling and keeps the actions and the hand inside the table’s column, which leaves two clean columns: the thing you are fighting, and everything you do about it. The three pile counts move to the foot of the Ancient’s column, where they read as the deck’s own bookkeeping rather than as something the table did.

The Ancient’s art goes from a thumbnail to the largest thing on the screen, with its name underneath rather than beside it, so the order you read it in is: see it, name it, read its numbers.

The cost is honest and worth knowing before you switch: the hand is narrower, because it now lives in one column instead of spanning the window. Standard remains the default. This is a preference, remembered in your browser, not something the table has to agree on.
