Xenocide Uprising

One meaning per colour

There is a new skin, and it is now the one you get by default. It is called Original, and Obsidian is untouched for anyone who preferred it.

The point of it is not the hues. It is that each colour has exactly one job, so you learn the screen once.

Colour Means
Bone Truth, and the one action
Pewter Card stock and mass, never a state
Verdigris You, alive, now
Rust Harm, in both directions, and nothing else
Brass Held back, not spent

Heal and Draw in verdigris, Void warding in brass

Three rules fall out of it that are easy to break by accident. Verdigris never decorates: if something is verdigris it is yours or it is happening now. Rust is the only colour allowed to mean something bad. And the Dominion bar is deliberately neutral pewter rather than a hue, so the rust below it reads unmistakably as the threat.

The card’s power word now carries its meaning rather than just its suit. Blood and Dream give you something and read verdigris. The Void holds something back and reads brass. A Force that has been bound to the enemy is harm being done to you and reads rust, and that beats the suit colour, because what was done to a card outranks what the card would have done.

Ten other skins are unchanged. Every colour above is an optional token that falls back to what was already there.
