Six days ago I wrote about being able to look closer at an entity in the Pantheon. That entry was true about one of them.
Nyarlathotep had the button. Nobody else did, and the reason was a table in the build that listed exactly one card. Every other painted entity opened the same panel with nothing to press.
The button is on all of them now. More usefully, the page no longer holds a list of which entities have detail art.
It asks the browser. The card sets its identity, and the client reads back whether a painting actually resolved for it. A second list in the page would be a second source of truth, and it would be wrong the first time an entity was painted and somebody forgot to add it, which is precisely how the button came to be on one card out of sixteen.
The old crop kept the top of the figure, which was the wrong idea twice over.
A vertical slice is not a zoom. Cutting the lower half off a figure whose arms spread wide turns a tall picture into a square one, and the frame then fits it by width, so the creature is drawn shorter than it was before. That is the opposite of looking closer.
And the point was never the head. These are drawings with detail all through them, and half the reason to open a bigger view is the part of the figure that is smallest on the card.
So there is no crop. Pressing Closer gives you the whole entity at a size the card cannot show, and the file that carries it is fetched at that moment rather than on page load, so nothing about the rest of the page got slower.
